“HURT NEVER! LOVE EVER!”

Once Ram used to get angry and irritated often for even silly things.  Due to anger and irritation he used to scold others, and disrespect them.  His father, one day, decided to teach him a lesson, of course, in a different way.  He called Ram and gave him a box of nails and said each time Ram gets angry and irritated, he should fix a nail in their garden.  First day, he fixed 15 nails in the garden since he had hurt others 15 times.  Second day it was around 12 nails.  Gradually it got reduced to NIL.  Ram came to his father and told him that he did not fix any nail on that particular day.  Ram’s father gave him a pat and said, “Good! This shows that you have developed a good control of mind. Now for each day when you don’t become angry you pull out the nail which you have fixed in the garden and tell me when you have removed all the nails”.  Ram also did the same way and reported to his father when he had no nails in the garden to be

removed.  Ram’s father asked Ram to take him to the place to get ensured that he had removed all nails.  Ram’s father said, “Well, Ram you’ve removed all the nails from the Garden.  But the garden is not the same as it was before. Now you’ve left big holes in all the places where you’d fixed the nails.  Now tell me, how you can restore the garden to its original condition”.  For this, Ram was not able to answer and he felt very very guilty.  Ram’s father said, “Dear Child, whenever you get angry and irritated, you hurt and insult others.  Though you might feel bad and say sorry to them, you would have already made an impression in those hearts, which you can never make right how much ever good things you may try to do for them later.  So, from now on, try, not to hurt others and start sharing only your love always with others.”

        Ram learnt a very big lesson that day and from then on he follows the rule “HURT NEVER! LOVE EVER!”
