Facts About Taj Mahal

Inside The Taj Mahal

The interior of the mausoleum comprises a lofty central chamber, a crypt immediately below this and four octagonal corner rooms originally intended to house the graves of other royal family members.

In the centre are the cenotaphs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Shah Jahan's cenotaph is to the left and is higher than that of his beloved which rests immediately below the dome.
The cenotaph of Mumtaz Mahal stands in the centre of the marble screen, it has inscribed on it in Persian with texts from the Koran. The cenotaph of Mumtaz has the single epitaph inscribed on it- "Marqad Munavvar Arjumand Bano Begum Mukhatib bah Mumtaz Mahal Tanifiyat fer sanh 1040 Hijri" (Here lies Arjumand Bano Begum called Mumtaz Mahal who di((d in 1040 A.H. or 1630 A.D.)

The cenotaph of Shah Jahan is inscribed in Persian- .'Marqad Mutahar Aali Hazrat Firdaus Ashiyani Sahib-qiran Saani Shah Jahan Badshah taab surah sanh 1076 Hijri" (The sacred sepulchre of his most exalted Majesty, dweller of Paradise, the second lord of constellations, the king Shah Jahan, may his mausoleum ever flourish, 1076 A.H. (1666 A.D.).

Above the tombs is a Cairene lamp, the flame of which is supposed to never burn out.
Marble screen of trelliswork surrounds the graves. Both tombs are exquisitely inlaid with semiprecious stones.
The acoustics of the building are superb with the domed ceiling being designed to echo chants from Koran and musician's melodies.
It is suggested that one walk around the outside of the tomb, before retrieving your shoes, to appreciate it from all sides.
Taj Mahal Story The story of Taj Mahal reflects the intensity of love. The fairy tale began when walking through the bazaar of Agra prince qhurram saw a girl. The girl was exceptionally beautiful. It was a love at first sight for both of them. After five years, on an auspicious day they were married and from that moment began the great epic of love.
Shah Jahan, "The King Of The World"
Prince qhurram was the fifth son of emperor Jahangir. He was the man of extraordinary brilliance, a great diplomat, a warrior and a lover of art. Once Jahangir wrote, "In art, in reason, in battle there is no comparison between him and my other children". In the honor of his numerous victories Jahangir entitled him as "Shah Jahan", "The King of the World". After Jahangir's death all his sons quarreled for the thrown, after fighting for years Shah Jahan killed all his brothers under suspicious circumstances and became the emperor, besides him stood his queen, comrade and confidante.
Mumtaz Mahal "The chosen one of the palace"
Shah Jahan titled her "Mumtaz Mahal", "The chosen one of the palace". A rare found combination of beauty and brain. She was her husband's best friend and confidante. She would counsel him in the diplomatic matters. She too was a great lover of art.
The End of the Fairy Tale
In 1631 Shah Jahan set up to berahanpur with his troops to subdue a rebellion, accompanied by Mumtaz Mahal Unfortunately during childbirth she suffered some complications and died. According to legend before dieing she extracted a promise from Shah Jahan that he would build a mausoleum as a tribute to their love.
The story of Taj Mahal begins Shah Jahan was obsessed to fulfill his wife's last wish. He invited the architects and artisans all over the world and planned for the building with absolute perfection. Taj Mahal was structured in Persian style combined with carvings of artisans called from Afghanistan and the garden designers from Kashmir. It took 22years to complete the Taj Mahal, a memento of love with the perfection of art. The carvings of Taj Mahal were decorated with very precious gemstones.
The story of Taj Mahal is unique in itself. It is an evidence that how the emotions and feelings are important to human life. The story of Taj Mahal is an example of devotion and faith. The story of Taj Mahal is a love story not found in papers but stands in the structural form. The story of Taj Mahal is rare. Taj Mahal History
The construction of this marble masterpiece is credited to the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan who erected this mausoleum in memory of his beloved wife, Arjumarid Bano Begum; popularly known as Mumtaz Mahal, who died in A.H. 1040 (A.D. 1630).
Her last wish to her husband was "to build a tomb in her memory such as the world had never seen before". Thus emperor Shah Jahan set about building this fairy tale like marvel.
The construction of Taj Mahal was started in A.D. 1632 and completed at the ended in 1648 A.D. For seventeen years, twenty thousand workmen are said to have been employed on it daily, for their accommodation a small town, named after the deceased empress- 'Mumtazabad' , now known as Taj Ganj, was built adjacent to it.
Amanat Khan Shirazi was the calligrapher of Taj Mahal, his name occurs at the end of an inscription on one of the gates of the Taj. Poet Ghiyasuddin had designed the verses on the tombstone, while Ismail Khan Afridi of Turkey was the dome maker. Muhammad Hanif was the superintendent of Masons.
The designer of Taj Mahal was Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. The material was brought in from allover India and central Asia and it took a fleet of 1000 elephants to transport it to the site. The central dome is 187 ft. high at the centre.
Red sandstone was brought from Fatehpur Sikri, Jasper from Punjab, Jade and Crystal from China, Turquoise from Tibet, Lapis Lazuli and Sapphire from Sri Lanka, Coal & Comelian from Arabia and Diamonds from Panna. In all 28 kind of rare, semi precious and precious stones were used for inlay work in the Taj Mahal.
The chief building material, the white marble was brought from the quarries of Makrana, in distt. Nagaur, Rajasthan. Copies of orders (farmans) issued to Raja Jai Singh, for the purpose by Shah Jahan, can be seen in the Taj Museum.
Taj Mahal's outer court, also known as Jilo Khana, was formerly used both as a bazar and a caravansarai (Rest house). On the south-east and south-west comers are the tombs of Sirhindi Begum and Satiunnisa Khanum. The Taj has a jewel-like quality.
The shadow and light play demonstrates its many moods.
Some feel the Taj is best seen on a full moon night, others find it ethereal at dawn while some insist that it is sensuous at sunset. Building of Taj Mahal Besides the miraculous architectural features and the elaborate ornamentation of the Taj Mahal, many additional features, which can often be overlooked, help complement and enhance this spectacular monument.
Background Unlike other Mughal tombs, the garden of the Taj Mahal has been laid out entirely in front of the tomb and does not play any part in the 'background' . Instead, the background has been provided by the sky. This background is not constant; it changes its colour and texture more than often, and the Taj is always presented in a variety of tints and moods. Its shades are subtly reflected on the white marble surface of the Taj Mahal which changes its colour and complexion accordingly.
Marble The Makrana marble used is of such a nature that it takes on incredibly subtle variations of tint and tone, according to the changes in the light, thus picturing the passing colour of the moment.
Soaring EffectThe colossal height of the tomb, along with its pyramidal appearance (which is obtained by the receding plinths, the square tomb and the bulbous dome, along with the pilasters surmounted by pinnacles, the tapering minarets and the decreasing volume of the dome culminating in a kalasa) give it a soaring effect. It appears as if it is about to rise into the sky...an ethereal quality full of lightness and grace.
Correction of Illusionary Effects The indigenous builders of the Taj Mahal fully understood the deceptive nature of the human eye. They knew that the reality and its perception and interpretation thereof differed. The plinth of the main tomb is 2'10'' high on an average. But the height varies at different places, particularly the central point between two piers being in each case 0.5" to 0.7" higher than the sides. This convexity has deliberately been given to the plinth in the centre of each arch, or else the building would have appeared as if it were falling down! The facades are not exactly at a right angle with the plinth, but are slightly inclined.
The finial is a stupendous crowning feature which measures nearly 10 meters!! The architect fully anticipated the apparent size which a finial would present from such a great height. It has therefore been very ingeniously been planned. These features of construction demonstrate the ability of the Indian architects to reconcile the illusionary effects created by distance and light.

Even when one sleeps in later in the morning to replace lost sleep will not help.

6. If U get very hungry just before bedtime, eat some fruits & vegetables which is easy to digest. Meat takes about 4 hours to digest before it goes into the intestines. Meat cooked in oil takes about 12 hours before going into the intestines. This will provoke the Liver & the digestive tract to overwork in filtering the toxins thus U will tend to feel very tired when U wake up in the morning.

7. Oil is the main culprit that will weaken the functions of the Liver and damage it. Medication cannot cure Liver problem and it will damage it even further.

8. Cold-pressed Olive oil, carrot, cucumber, raw chili, garlic, onion, little bamboo salt/sea-salt, radish, pumpkin and small fish are good for the body. Sesame oil is ok.

Hair and Skin Myths

8 hair and skin myths, busted.

We all have certain fixed ideas about what's good for us and what isn't. These ideas are often fuelled by folklore, incomplete knowledge from various publications or the Internet, incorrect interpretation of this knowledge and, of course, misinformation and exaggeration by television commercials. To set the record straight at least as far as skincare goes here are a few common myths and the truth behind them.

Myth: "My sunscreen will prevent tanning"
Fact: No sunscreen prevents tanning. It only decreases sun induced skin damage such as sunburn and delays photo-aging. Only a physical block like dark cloth or an umbrella can protect you.

Myth: "The longer I keep hair oil on, the better it is for my hair"
Fact: You actually need hair oil only for half an hour to an hour. It merely smoothens frizzled hair cuticles and is not absorbed into the hair shaft or scalp. In fact, keeping oil in your hair for a longer period or overnight traps dirt, causes build up of residue and leads to blackheads and acne on the forehead.

Myth: "My skin is normal / oily, so I don't need moisturizer”
Fact: Moisturiser does not add oil to the skin -- it hydrates, ie makes water molecules move into the cells of your skin, making it look smoother and softer. In fact, even oily skin needs frequent cleansing to remove excess oil and sebaceous secretion, followed by an application of moisturiser.

Myth: "Applying cream at night is bad as it prevents my skin from breathing”
Fact: Most of the skin's self-repairing activity occurs at night and nourishment given at this time can only maximise benefits. Most night creams are non oil-based, non-greasy formulations that do not block pores and supply essential rejuvenating substances.

Myth: "Home / natural remedies are 100 per cent safe”
Fact: If you have sensitive skin, even homemade packs and natural cleansers (eg turmeric, multani mitti, besan) can cause allergies or irritant reactions. Not all skin types are alike, so what works for most people may backfire for you. Always perform a test patch of a home remedy before applying it all over your face.

Myth: "Shampooing frequently increases hair fall”
Fact: Shampooing only dislodges hair that is already dead (Telogen Hair), which otherwise would have shed off on its own without your realising it. Live hair, in its growing stage (Anagen Hair), cannot be pulled out by shampooing. It is normal to lose 100 strands of hair per day.

Myth: "Fairness cream will transform me from a black beauty to a swan”
Fact: No one is going to offer you a movie role after three months of applying any cream in the world. Your skin colour is largely genetic and fairness products can make a difference of a few shades. Be realistic in your expectations. Yes, with intensive skin improvement, under a dermatologist' s supervision, your skin can definitely become more even toned, less patchy, healthier and up to 30 to 35 per cent lighter -- but no one can make you Snow White -- that's a fairy tale!

Myth: "Stress causes greying of hair”
Fact: Stress only causes falling of hair. This affects only black hair, which is how the grey begins to show more as the black hair decreases. Greying, especially premature greying, is determined more by your genes.

Time Travel in the Brain

What are you doing when you aren't doing anything at all? If you said "nothing," then you have just passed a test in logic and flunked a test in neuroscience.

When people perform mental tasks--adding numbers, comparing shapes, identifying faces--different areas of their brains become active, and brain scans show these active areas as brightly colored squares on an otherwise dull gray background.
But researchers have recently discovered that when these areas of our brains light up, other areas go dark. This dark network (which comprises regions in the frontal, parietal and medial temporal lobes) is off when we seem to be on, and on when we seem to be off.

If you climbed into an MRI machine and lay there quietly, waiting for instructions from a technician, the dark network would be as active as a beehive. But the moment your instructions arrived and your task began, the bees would freeze and the network would fall silent. When we appear to be doing nothing, we are clearly doing something. But what?

The answer, it seems, is time travel.

The human body moves forward in time at the rate of one second per second whether we like it or not. But the human mind can move through time in any direction and at any speed it chooses.

Our ability to close our eyes and imagine the pleasures of Super Bowl Sunday or remember the excesses of New Year's Eve is a fairly recent evolutionary development, and our talent for doing this is unparalleled in the animal kingdom.

We are a race of time travelers, unfettered by chronology and capable of visiting the future or revisiting the past whenever we wish. If our neural time machines are damaged by illness, age or accident, we may become trapped in the present. Alzheimer's disease, for instance, specifically attacks the dark network, stranding many of its victims in an endless now, unable to remember their yesterdays or envision their tomorrows.
Why did evolution design our brains to go wandering in time? Perhaps it's because an experience is a terrible thing to waste. Moving around in the world exposes organisms to danger, so as a rule they should have as few experiences as possible and learn as much from each as they can.
Although some of life's lessons are learned in the moment ("Don't touch a hot stove"), others become apparent only after the fact ("Now I see why she was upset. I should have said something about her new dress"). Time travel allows us to pay for an experience once and then have it again and again at no additional charge, learning new lessons with each repetition. When we are busy having experiences- -herding children, signing checks, battling traffic--the dark network is silent, but as soon as those experiences are over, the network is awakened, and we begin moving across the landscape of our history to see what we can learn--for free.
Animals learn by trial and error, and the smarter they are, the fewer trials they need. Traveling backward buys us many trials for the price of one, but traveling forward allows us to dispense with trials entirely. Just as pilots practice flying in flight simulators, the rest of us practice living in life simulators, and our ability to simulate future courses of action and preview their consequences enables us to learn from mistakes without making them.
We don't need to bake a liver cupcake to find out that it is a stunningly bad idea; simply imagining it is punishment enough. The same is true for insulting the boss and misplacing the children. We may not heed the warnings that prospection provides, but at least we aren't surprised when we wake up with a hangover or when our waists and our inseams swap sizes. The dark network allows us to visit the future, but not just any future. When we contemplate futures that don't include us--Will the NASDAQ be up next week? Will Hillary run in 2008?--the dark network is quiet. Only when we move ourselves through time does it come alive.
Perhaps the most startling fact about the dark network isn't what it does but how often it does it. Neuroscientists refer to it as the brain's default mode, which is to say that we spend more of our time away from the present than in it.
People typically overestimate how often they are in the moment because they rarely take notice when they take leave. It is only when the environment demands our attention--a dog barks, a child cries, a telephone rings--that our mental time machines switch themselves off and deposit us with a bump in the here and now. We stay just long enough to take a message and then we slip off again to the land of Elsewhen, our dark networks awash in light.

Therapy Procedure

Early morning, after you get up from bed, (without even brushing your teeth) drink 1.5 liters of water i.e., 5 to 6 glasses. Let us all know that ancient Indians termed this therapy as "Usha Paana Chikitsa" . You may wash your face thereafter.

Here it is very essential to note that nothing else, neither drinks nor solid food of any sort should be taken within 1 hour before and after drinking these 1.5 liters of water.

It is also to be strictly observed that no alcoholic drinks should be taken the previous night.

If required, boiled and filtered water may be used for this purpose.

It is difficult to drink 1.5 liters of water at one time, but you will get used to it gradually. Initially, while practicing you may drink four glasses first and to balance two glasses after a gap of two minutes.

You may find the necessity to urinate 2 to 3 times within an hour, but it will become normal after quite some time.

By Research and Experience

The following diseases are observed to be cured with this therapy within the indicated days as below:

Constipation - 1 day
Acidity - 2 days
Diabetes - 7 days
Cancer - 4 weeks
Pulmonary TB - 3 months
BP & Hypertension - 4 weeks

Note:

It is advised that persons suffering from Arthritis or Rheumatism should practice this therapy thrice a day, i.e. morning, midday and night, 1 hour before meals for one week; and twice a day subsequently until the disease disappears.

How Does Pure Water Act?

Consuming ordinary drinking water by the right method purifies human body. It renders the colon more effective by forming new fresh blood, known in medical terms as " Haematopaises". That the mucous folds of the colon and intestines are activated by this method is an undisputed fact, just as the theory that the mucous fold produces new fresh blood.

If the colon is cleansed then the nutrients of the food taken several times a day will be absorbed and by the action of the mucous folds they are turned into fresh blood. The blood is all-important in curing ailments and restoring health and for this water should be consumed in a regular pattern.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF ALMOND

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF ALMOND?
Almond may provide many health benefits including cardiac protection and cholesterol- lowering. And, these health benefits are probably related to its rich content of antioxidants and factty acids.

What does almond contain?Almond contain some important phytochemicals such as sphingolipid, beta-sitosterol, daucosterol, uridine, and adenosine. [3] Almond also contain a protein called amandin. Amandin is a legumin type protein characterized by a sedimentation value of 14S. It is composed of two major types of polypeptides with estimated molecular weights of 42-46 and 20-22 kDa linked via disulfide bonds. Amandin is not a glycoprotein. Amandin-1, amandin-2, and amandin-3 are antigenically related and have similar biochemical properties. [2] Researchers studied the flavonol content of 16 almond varieties and they found each of the 16 seedcoat samples exhibited a unique composition. [4] Four flavonol glycosides were identified in almond seedcoats: isorhamnetin rutinoside, isorhamnetin glucoside, kaempferol rutinoside, and kaempferol glucoside. [1] Among these flavonol glycosides, isorhamnetin rutinoside was the most abundant flavonol glycoside, and the total content ranged from 75 to 250 microg/g.

[4]WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF ALMONDS?
ANORECTAL PROLAPSEA study has shown that phenol in almond oil injection therapy is a simple and safe procedure for anorectal prolapse in children. Nine children with rectal prolapse, aged from 2 to 14 years were treated by phenol in almond oil injection sclerotherapy. All nine patients were cured after one to three injections without any complications. Two out of 4 children with constipation prior to injection therapy had no longer constipation thereafter.

[6]ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITIES
Consumption of tree nuts such as almonds has been associated with benefits of reducing risk of coronary heart disease. Flavonoids, found predominantly in the skin of almonds, may contribute to their putative health benefit.Almond has shown its anti-oxidation activities in various studies. [7, 9] In a study of hamster, researchers found that Almond skin flavonoids possess antioxidant capacity in vitro and they are bioavailable. Vitamins C and E act in synergy with Almond skin flavonoids to provide benefits of protecting LDL against oxidation in hamsters. The peak plasma concentration (Cmax) of catechin, epicatechin, and flavonols (quercetin, kaempferol, and isorhamnetin) occurred at 60, 120, and 180 min, respectively. The concentration of isorhamnetin was significantly elevated in liver at 180 min. Absorbed Almond skin flavonoids enhanced the ex vivo resistance of hamster LDL collected at 60 min to oxidation by 18.0% (P = 0.028), and the in vitro addition of 5.5 micromol/L vitamin E synergistically extended the lag time of the 60-min sample by 52.5%. [7] In another study, researchers from Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, prepared almond hulls (Nonpareil variety) extracts with methanol. And, the extract mainly contained chlorogenic acid, cryptochlorogenic acid, 3-O-caffeoylquinic acid and sterols (stigmasterol, beta-sitosterol) . They found that at an equivalent concentration (10 microg/1 g of methyl linoleate) almond hull extracts had higher antioxidant activity than alpha-tocopherol. [12]The cell walls of almond seeds reduce lipid bioaccessibility by hindering the release of lipid available for digestion. Seed coat cell wall contains a large amount of phenolic compounds while the cell walls are rich in non-starch polysaccharides, particularly arabinose-rich polysaccharides. [8,10] During chewing, i.e. disruption of almond tissue, only the first layer of cells at the fractured surface is ruptured and able to release the lipid. Researchers examined fecal samples collected from subjects consuming the almond diet, they found intact cotyledonary cells, in which the cell walls encapsulated intracellular lipid.

[8]CHOLESTEROL- LOWERING ACTIVITIESGuess which one of the following almond products have more benefits to high cholesterol: roasted salted almonds, roasted almond butter or raw almonds? In a study, researchers fed 38 human subjects with high cholesterol profiles with heart-healthy diets including 100g of one of three forms of almonds: roasted salted almonds, roasted almond butter or raw almonds for four weeks. They found that all forms of almonds in the context of a heart-healthy diet significantly lowered low-density lipoprotein- cholesterol (LDL) from baseline to the completion of the study. Both raw and roasted almonds significantly lowered triglyceride levels, but almond butter did not lower the triglyceride to a statistical significance. However, they all didn't have much effect on High-density lipoprotein- cholesterol (HDL) and blood pressure. [11]

Guess which one has more benefits on plasma lipids: whole-almond or almond oil. Researchers supplied 22 healthy subjects with either whole almonds or almond oil for 6-wk periods. They found that fat replacement with either whole almonds and almond oil resulted in a 54% increase in percentage of energy as monounsaturated fat with declines in both saturated fat and cholesterol intake and no significant changes in total energy, total or polyunsaturated fat intake. The effects of whole almonds and almond oil on plasma lipids did not differ compared with baseline; plasma triglyceride, total and LDL cholesterol significantly decreased, 14, 4 and 6% respectively, whereas HDL cholesterol increased 6%. [13]

Role of Iron in Body

Iron
What does it do? Iron is part of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying component of the blood. Iron-deficient people tire easily because their bodies are starved for oxygen. Iron is also part of myoglobin, which helps muscle cells store oxygen. Without enough iron, ATP (the fuel the body runs on) cannot be properly synthesized. As a result, some iron-deficient people become fatigued even when their hemoglobin levels are normal.
Although iron is part of the antioxidant enzyme catalase, iron is not generally considered an antioxidant, because too much iron can cause oxidative damage.
Where is it found? The most absorbable form of iron, called “heme” iron, is found in oysters, meat, poultry, and fish. Non-heme iron is also found in these foods, as well as in dried fruit, molasses, leafy green vegetables, wine, and most iron supplements. Acidic foods (such as tomato sauce) cooked in an iron pan can also be a source of dietary iron.
Who is likely to be deficient? Vegetarians eat less iron than nonvegetarians, and the iron they eat is somewhat less absorbable. As a result, vegetarians are more likely to have reduced iron stores. However, iron deficiency is not usually caused by a lack of iron in the diet alone; an underlying cause, such as iron loss in menstrual blood, often exists.
Pregnant women, marathon runners, people who take aspirin, and those who have parasitic infections, hemorrhoids, ulcers, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, gastrointestinal cancers, or other conditions that cause blood loss or malabsorption are likely to become deficient.
Individuals who fit into one of these groups, even pregnant women, shouldn’t automatically take iron supplements. Fatigue, the first symptom of iron deficiency, can be caused by many other things. A nutritionally oriented doctor should assess the need for iron supplements, since taking iron when it isn’t needed does no good and may do some harm.
How much is usually taken? If a nutritionally oriented doctor diagnoses iron deficiency, iron supplementation is essential. A common adult dose is 100 mg per day. When iron deficiency is diagnosed, the doctor must also determine the cause. Usually it’s not serious (such as normal menstrual blood loss or blood donation). Occasionally, however, iron deficiency signals ulcers or even colon cancer.
Many premenopausal women become marginally iron deficient unless they supplement with iron. Even so, the 18 mg of iron present in most multiple-vitamin/ mineral supplements is often adequate.
Are there any side effects or interactions? Huge overdoses (as when a child swallows an entire bottle of iron supplements) can be fatal. Keep iron-containing supplements out of a child’s reach. Hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, polycythemia, and iron-loading anemias (such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia) are conditions involving excessive storage of iron. Supplementing iron can be quite dangerous for people with these diseases.
Supplemental amounts required to overcome iron deficiency can cause constipation . Sometimes switching the form of iron, getting more exercise, or treating the constipation with fiber and fluids is helpful. Sometimes the amount of iron must be reduced if constipation occurs.
Some researchers have linked excess iron to diabetes cancer, increased risk of infection,4 systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), exacerbation of rheumatoid arthritis, andheart disease, though a review of the best studies has found no link.10 None of these links has been proven. Nonetheless, too much iron causes free radical damage, which can cause or exacerbate most of these diseases. People who are not iron deficient should not supplement iron when potential risks might exist and no benefit can be found.
Caffeine, high-fiber foods, and calcium supplements reduce iron absorption. Vitamin C slightly increases iron absorption. Taking vitamin A with iron helps treat iron deficiency, since vitamin A helps the body use iron stored in the liver.
Deferoxamine is a drug that binds to some metals, including iron, and carries them out of the body. It is used to treat acute iron poisoning, chronic iron overload, and aluminum accumulation in people with kidney failure. People taking deferoxamine to treat iron overload must not take iron supplements, including the amounts found in many multivitamin/ minerals.
Penicillamine binds metals (including copper and iron) and carries them out of the body. When penicillamine and iron are taken together, penicillamine absorption and activity are reduced. Four cases of penicillamine- induced kidney damage were reported when concomitant iron therapy was stopped, which presumably led to increased penicillamine absorption and toxicity.

Green Tea Benefit

The health benefits of Green Tea:
Green tea specifically has been associated with protection against certain types of cancer including lung, stomach cancer and its precancerous condition, gastritis. Moreover, an observational study in Japan found that the regular consumption of green tea (more than 3 cups a day) might be protective against recurrence of breast cancer in the early stages.

In addition to its potential anticarcinogenic and antioxidant effects, other studies have shown green tea to have anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic, cholesterol lowering, antiviral and antibacterial properties.

Green tea and skin protection:A number of animal studies have shown that topical treatment or oral consumption of green tea polyphenols, inhibit chemical carcinogen or ultraviolet radiation-induced skin tumours in different animal models. Treatment of green tea polyphenols to skin has been shown to have a beneficial effect on the biochemical pathways involved in skin inflammation, cell proliferation and chemical tumour promoters. These results have been confirmed in a human model, where topical application of green tea polyphenols protected against UV light induced DNA damage. Based on results mainly from animal studies, many companies are now supplementing their skin care products with green tea extracts.

Green tea extract and weight loss:Preliminary research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that an extract from green tea may help with weight loss by speeding up fat oxidation. In this study, researchers conducted a 6 week study of 10 healthy men in their 20's and found that those men who were given a green tea extract used more calories in a day than those who did not.
* Source teahealth.co. uk Possible Link between Green Tea and Arthritis PreventionRheumatoid arthritis is a systemic disease and is one of the most common forms of arthritis. According to an April 13, 1999 news release from the Arthritis Foundation, the disease affects 2.1 million Americans (i.e., 1.5; million women, 600,000 men), and usually strikes in middle age. Researchers conducting a study funded by the Arthritis Foundation report that green tea may be useful in treating or preventing rheumatoid arthritis; however, more research is needed to determine its exact role. According to the release, the polyphenolic compounds present in green tea may limit the onset and subsequent progression of rheumatoid arthritis. Polyphenols are a class of compounds that have strong antioxidant properties (i.e., the ability to halt enzymes that produce carcinogens) .
In three independent experiments, the mice that researchers gave green tea polyphenols (GTP) in water exhibited significantly reduced incidence of arthritis (i.e., 33% to 50% developed arthritis as compared to 84% to 100% of mice not given GTP in water). According to the release, mice given GTP in water were protected significantly from developing arthritis, and if they did develop the disease, its severity was mild. More testing is needed with humans to determine the role of green tea in the treatment and prevention of rheumatoid arthritis.

Inspirational story King & the Boy

Once a king set out on his horse to visit the city he ruled. As he was going around the city he saw a very unusual sight. He saw a little boy on the road who was playing with mud and dust. As the king looked at the boy he saw something that struck him immediately. He understood that this was no ordinary boy. He had a mystic look in his eyes and the king was curious to know more about him. The king called the boy to his side and asked him as to why he was playing with the dust and mud. The boy with his piercing eyes looked at theking and asked him who he was. The king answered that he was the king of that country and repeated the same question to the boy as to why he was playing with the mud and dust. The boy without looking up at the king continued playing and said "this human body is made up of mud and dust and ultimately is going to mingle in that only. Therefore I am playing with it because I am made from it." "O mightyking now you tell me what else should I play with" The king had no answer to such a profound question and did not know what to say in reply to such a little boy. He immediately realized that he was no ordinary human being. Therefore he asked the boy to accompany him to his palace and stay with him for the rest of his life. The boy said "Omighty king, I am willing to live in your palace if you can fulfil my two conditions. First, you have to be with me through all twenty four hours and second, you have to remain awake when I am asleep" The king was slightly startled. He said " Alright, I shall remain with you for all twenty four hours. But I shall not keep awake when you are asleep" The boy at once jumped up to his feet, saluted him and said "In thatcase I cannot go with you to your palace. Here my God remains with me through twenty four hours and looks after me when I am asleep" "I am not afool to leave my God and come with you. O mighty king, thank you and good bye" Saying that the boy went his way. The king was dumbfounded and had nothing to say to the divine boy. What a great little boy! What a little great king! The King isn't little, he recognised the beauty of the boy and learned..

Inspirational story of Two Frogs

There were two frogs.
One frog lived in the sea. He knew vastness, openness and fathomless-ness.
He was so used to bigness that the sea is, that no smallness could trap his
attention.
The other frog lived in a well, not far from the sea. But he knew not what
sea was. He had never seen it—not even heard of it. In his most wildest of
imaginations, if at all he ever imagined, sea was an extended well—or at the
most, a `part' of his well, maybe from `this end to that.
Both the frogs lived in different worlds, though they lived so close by.
One day, however, they both met. They tried to speak on common lines, but
their conversation could not make much headway. They both talked different
languages: the sea-frog spoke of vastness of sea, the well-frog insisted on
the `vastness' of his well.
The sea-frog wondered and smiled, `How could the well-frog compare his
little well to the vast expanse of ocean!' To him, even the very idea of it
was ridiculous, or at the most, sheer amusement. `Sea and a well, where is
even the possibility of a comparison?' he pondered.
The well-frog on the other hand, wondered: `How could there be anything
larger, bigger, than my well? How could one trifle with the vastness of my
well?' He surmised, after he heard the sea-frog describing the sea, that the
sea-frog must be a little out of his mind, or else, how could he talk like
that? Can a well have an equivalent, a match?
The sea-frog understood where the difficulty lay. But how could he convince
his fellow frog of the existence of the sea? He pitied that his fellow frog
never went out of his well, and had remained so small and narrow in his
world-view.
The well-frog lived a cosy and protected life, but at times he felt
something was missing in his life, though he could not figure out what it
was. He had all that he needed, but there came to him, now and then, a
desire to know if there was anything beyond his well. He often recalled the
sea-frog's description of sea, something much bigger than his well. Many
times he planned to undertake a journey, but rarely did his enthusiasm
sustain. His desire to know what lay beyond lacked strength and steadiness.
Then, one day, he knew not how, he climbed out of his well, and began his
journey towards the sea—the place of his dreams. What pushed him out of his
well, and how he could manage to climb out, he could not understand, but he
was happy he was out.
The journey to the sea, however, was far from being easy and smooth. He went
along his path, but at times he slipped off the surface and at other times,
his little feet got stuck in the sand. There were moments when he was not
sure whether he was going in the right direction. It was a challenging
experience—frighteni ng and satisfying by turns. The journey was so long,
arduous and tedious, that he wondered whether there was anything called
sea—until he reached the sea.
Having reached the seashore, he had nothing more to ask. He had no doubts,
no enquiries, no complaints, no regrets.

He stood speechless; he knew the sea-frog was right.
